Hi Reader,
I don't know about you, but sometimes it's the unexpected little things that make me the happiest.
This week I was playing with my Arrtx markers, and since it's fall, I kept reaching for orange all the time. Pumpkins, leaves, warm glowing backgrounds… Every time I picked it up, I was sure this was the moment it would run dry.
But to my surprise, it just kept going. And going! It made me so happy I could have given it a kiss. 🧡
That little orange marker was part of a bigger art-supply adventure. I've been testing a full set of Arrtx acrylic paint markers on white paper, black paper, and even very thin pages. I tried layering, blending with water, making tiny details with the brush tip, and of course, actually using them in my art journal.
I wrote up all my experiments, favorite discoveries, and a few helpful things to know before you try them yourself. If you love colorful art journaling, playful marks, and creating without a mountain of supplies, I think you'll enjoy this one.

And speaking of happy surprises, I have one more little piece of news… I've been featured in InFlow Digital Art Magazine! You'll find me in Issue 19 (October 2026) in their "Craft and Carry On" interview, chatting all about art journaling, creativity, and why I believe anyone can make art.

So here's a little mindful idea for this week: keep an eye out for your own small, unexpected joys. The beautiful colors of the falling leaves, the fresh, crisp air on your face, the dreamy shapes of the clouds drifting by, or a warm cup of coffee or tea cupped in your hands. When you notice one, pause for a moment and really enjoy it. Then write it down in the corner of your journal page so you can smile at it again later.
As always, thank you for being here, cheering me on, and sharing this colorful creative corner with me. I hope you find a little time this week to make something just for the joy of it.
Happy creating,
Salwa

P.S. Arrtx gifted me these markers in exchange for my honest feedback. This isn't a paid review, and every opinion is 100% my own.
